In its first year of participation in the legendary 24 Hours Nürburgring Race, the Giti Tire sponsored Dörr Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3 achieved an impressive 2nd place finish in the SP8 category.
Despite a loss of 20 minutes due to a gearbox breakdown, Giti tires were able to carry the Lamborghini through difficult track and weather conditions in this grueling 24 hours race of 2,423 miles held on May 27-28.
Singapore-based Giti Tire and Dörr Motorsports announced their partnership in November 2016 with the stated goal of strongly competing in the renowned endurance race and helping the tire company utilize race tire technologies to achieve advancements in tire performance and safety for every day consumers.
“Giti is a world renowned tire business with strong racing genes,” said Rainer Dörr at the time. “I visited the Giti R&D center, which gave me confidence in Giti’s design capability and product quality.”
Phang Wai Yeen, executive director of research & development for Giti Tire, said “When Giti and Dörr Motorsports partnered up, we expected a new milestone to be set for the Nürburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race, and we are very pleased with the results.
